You must be knowing that during 1947 Pakistan attacked on Jammu and Kashmir and captured many parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan . The south western narrow strip of Pak occupied kashmir is declared as independent state Azad Jammu and kashmir(shown in map) by pakistani government.
It borders the present-day Indian-controlled state of Jammu and Kashmir to the east (separated from it by the Line of Control), the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan to the west, the Federally Administered Northern Areas (FANA) to the north, and the Punjab Province of Pakistan to the south. With its capital at Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir covers an area of 13,297 square kilometres (5,134 sq mi) and has an estimated population of about four million. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are together referred to in India as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is a self-governing state under Pakistani control but is not constitutionally part of Pakistan. It has its own elected president, prime minister, legislature, high court, and official flag. The government of Pakistan has not yet allowed the state to issue its own postage stamps, however, and Pakistani stamps are used in the state instead. Azad Kashmir has it own Judiciary. Azad Kashmir's financial matters, i.e., budget and tax affairs, are dealt with by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council, rather than by Pakistan's Central Board of Revenue. The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council is a supreme body consisting of 11 members, six from the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and five from the government of Pakistan. Its chairman/chief executive is the president of Pakistan. Other members of the council are the president and the prime minister of Azad Kashmir and a few other AJK ministers.
You must have noticed that no country in the world uses the word independent as in the case of azad kashmir ,this word is used to fool the people to have them a false feeling of independence. The government of azad kashmir sees interest of pakistan but not of azad kashmir .The pakistani government has formed azad kashmir so due to various reasons. 1- They wanted to have a false print on the world that Pakistan freed kashmir and India is still capturing major parts of it. 2- To convince the people residing there that pakistan supports the freedom of kashmir.3- To give a strong reason to terrorists to free the rest of the kashmir.
This place is very much famous for its natural beauty but pakistani administration has converted it into a hell as Pakistan uses its ground as base camp of Terrorist activities. the standard of living of people is very low, there is less freedom of speech as compared to India's rights. It is better to ask about condition of Azad Kashmir to its people living in foreign nations rather than its indigineous people.
The actual situation in azad kashmir is that only its name is azad but its people are not. People cant have democracy. People do not have proper basic facilities. The politicians there gets a big amount from pakistani government and doesnt look after people. In spite of these india administrated kashmir is having a much better living standards. Jinnah created Pakistan on the base of religion difference but we can say that his theory of one nation one religion has failed as within 25 years of creation of pakistan in 1972 eastern pakistan - present Bangladesh was separated from pakistan and now also there is a strong revolt in pakistan. Means to say that pakistan has failed to satisfy people with its government. Also seeing the ill condition of azad kashmir we can say that autonomy is not a proper solution for any territorial difference dispute.
